Software Tech Lead - Data Platforms

We are building a multi-tenant analytics and data platform that operates at large scale on AWS + Kubernetes, delivering streaming and batch data pipelines as a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS).

You will act as a hands-on technical leader, owning core data platform components, making architectural decisions, and ensuring production reliability at scale.

Mentor engineers and raise the overall engineering bar.

Software skills: Staff level, hands-on softeware engineering experience building and operating distributed data platform systems at scale, focusing on JVM performance tuning and memory management.
Processing: Strong experience with Flink or Spark (shuffles, OOM, partitioning, performance tuning).
Data sources & sinks: Experience integrating with Kafka, S3, REST APIs, and RDBMS.
Datastores: Deep operational experience with OpenSearch / Elasticsearch including indexing strategies, templates/mappings, and operational troubleshooting.
Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience with EKS, RBAC, ArgoCD, and Terraform for infrastructure and delivery workflows.
Big Data: Familiarity with big-data technologies and formats (Iceberg, parquet)
AI tools: Experience with AI-assisted development tools. (e.g., CursorAI, GitHub Copilot, or similar).

Ingestion pipelines: Build and operate Apache Flink / Spark stateful streaming and batch jobs ingesting from Kafka, S3, APIs, and RDBMS into OpenSearch and other data stores. Handle data skew, backpressure, late events, and checkpointing.
Platform delivery: Provide reusable, multi-tenant pipelines as a self-service PaaS.
GitOps delivery: Deploy and operate pipelines and services using GitOps principles via ArgoCD across environments.
IaC & AWS: Provision infrastructure with Terraform and secure access using IAM / IRSA.
Reliability: Own monitoring, stability, and troubleshooting of production pipelines.
