As a Senior Backend Engineer at 8fig, you will join a close-knit, dynamic, and hands-on team that values high coding standards and modern development methodologies. You'll work with an exciting and innovative tech stack, including TypeScript, Node.js, serverless architectures, event-driven systems, event sourcing, NoSQL/relational databases (e.g., DynamoDB, PostgreSQL), cloud platforms (AWS), and GraphQL APIs , to build a seamless and powerful user experience. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire customer journey, from smooth onboarding through delivering sustained value for our loyal customers.

We're looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join our growing team!

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node and NestJS.
Work with SQL-based databases to store, query, and optimize structured data
Leverage AWS to build resilient and secure cloud-based infrastructure
Build APIs that power web and internal services
Participate in design reviews, architecture discussions, and code reviews
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, data, and engineering teams
Take ownership over features from idea to production
Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and performance

Requirements

5+ years of experience as a backend engineer, preferably in a startup or fast-paced environment
Strong proficiency in Node.js and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
Solid experience working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL or PostgreSQL)
Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., Lambda, SQS, RDS, S3)
Familiarity with clean architecture principles and scalable service design
Comfortable working in an agile environment with evolving priorities
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
