The Role
Crossix Analytics is a business within Veeva dedicated to advancing healthcare marketing with analytics, innovative planning, targeting, measurement, and optimization solutions. Positioned at the center of big data, innovative technology, and multichannel media, Veeva Crossix provides most life sciences companies with insights to help make strategic business decisions and drive improved patient outcomes. As an Engineering Director, you will lead a group of Software, DevOps, and QA engineers building the infrastructure for the unique Veeva Data Platform. The Veeva Data Platform is consolidated from huge, privacy-protected datasets pulled from multiple health data and consumer data suppliers. The Data Platform is the foundation for the Crossix Analytics and for Veeva Compass products which generates millions of dollar income for over 15 years and is continuing to grow.
What You’ll Do

Build and lead a team of professional software, DevOPs and QA engineers responsible to deliver high-quality software solutions
Take a major part in the technical leadership team that is taking decisions on key technologies, architecture, operation methods and organizational structure
Work closely with product managers to translate requirements into clear technical design and architecture
Assume full ownership and accountability over product delivery timelines
Provide technological and managerial coaching to R&D team members based on extensive hands-on and managerial experience

Requirements

Proven leadership skills of an R&D group.
B.Sc. in Computer science
10+ years of experience with server side Java programming, databases and cloud technologies. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Design skills
Self-motivated and fast learner with a strong sense of ownership
Proficient English skills

Nice to Have

Experience with Apache Spark framework
Experience with development for AWS cloud and specifically EMR
