Space Camera System Engineer

Elbit Systems is an international high-technology company engaged in a wide range of programs worldwide, primarily in the defense and homeland security arenasWe develop and supply a broad portfolio of airborne, land, and naval systems and products for defense, homeland security, and commercial applications We are looking for a System Engineer to join our Space Division and lead system engineering activities for advanced space camera development programsThis role involves working across all development phases—from design to integration and delivery—while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams Responsibilities Perform system engineering tasks for space camera development and integration throughout the project lifecycleCoordinate and work closely with system engineers and cross-functional teams (electronics, mechanics, materials, algorithms, reliability, and more)Analyze requirements and translate them into detailed engineering specificationsPrepare and maintain system documents, specifications, design documents, and test plansManage and update system performance budgets across all development stagesPlan and execute development tests, including test design, supervision, data analysis, and conclusionsUpdate and expand the main integration plan (MITP) to ensure full compliance with engineering, functional, and environmental requirementsDefine and develop integration and testing phases, including creating dedicated tools to improve efficiency and shorten schedulesHands-on work in assembly and testing labsDefine integration infrastructure requirements, support procurement processes, and manage subcontractors until full implementation Requirements B.Sc. in Electro-Optics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics – mustM.Sc. in Engineering – advantageMinimum 3 years of experience in integration of multidisciplinary systems – mustMinimum 3 years of experience in electro-optical system engineering – mustProven experience in requirements analysis, specification writing, interface definition, and V&V planningExperience with Matlab / Python / LabVIEW for data processing and analysisUnderstanding of camera calibration processes and image quality analysis – advantageFamiliarity with space systems development – advantage Personal Skills Excellent interpersonal communicationStrong teamwork abilitiesQuick learner with analytical skills for complex topicsHigh motivation, efficiency, and attention to detail
