Electro-Optics Development Manager

Elbit Systems is an international high technology company engaged in a wide range of programs throughout the world, primarily in the defense and homeland security arenasWe develop and supply a broad portfolio of airborne, land and naval systems and products for defense, homeland security and commercial applications We are looking for a Development Manager to lead the development of advanced Electro-Optical assemblies at our Rehovot site, specializing in high-power laser systems The position involves managing the design and development of cutting-edge multi-disciplinary Electro-Optical systems, with a focus on military-grade high power laser technologies Responsibilities Lead planning, synchronization, and coordination of development activities across engineering disciplines (including mechanical, optical, software, electronics and system engineers ) and stakeholders (e.g., program managers, customers, subcontractors, support and production teams) Make critical development decisions and approve key milestonesEnsure compliance with project management requirements (schedule, scope, quality, budget, customer satisfaction)Oversee technical system requirements and lead formal technical events (IPTs, design reviews, integration, testing, trials)Prioritize engineering activities and evaluate alternatives across disciplinesDevelop prototypes and conduct complex experiments to support risk reduction and capability validationAllocate appropriate development resources and ensure delivery of system commitments Requirements B.Sc. in Engineering, Electro-Optics or Physics – mustB.Sc./M.Sc. in Engineering or Physics– advantageExperience in the laser's development arena- advantageProven leadership and team management skills with excellent interpersonal abilitiesStrong system-level understanding and multidisciplinary engineering knowledgeFast learner with the ability to integrate into new technological domainsExperience in workplan creation, risk management, and budget controlMinimum 5 years of experience leading development processes in complex multi-disciplinary system programsExperience in military Electro-Optical system development – advantageHigh commitment and willingness to work intensively over extended periods
