Alexander Muss High School in Israel (AMHSI) is a pluralistic, Zionist, academic study-abroad program that seeks strengthen Jewish identity and fosters connection to the Jewish people, the land, and the State of Israel. Our unique curriculum integrates classroom learning with experiential field trips, bringing history, culture, and ideas to life.

Position Summary

The Social Worker at AMHSI plays a key role in supporting the emotional, social, and psychological well-being of high school students participating in AMHSI’s academic and experiential programs in Israel. This position requires a caring, professional, and proactive individual who can provide guidance, crisis intervention, and ongoing support in a pluralistic, multicultural, and residential educational environment.

This can be either full time or part-time position, locates in Hod Hasharon, including at least two evenings a week.

Key Responsibilities

Provide individual and group counselling to students to support emotional adjustment, well-being, and positive social integration.
Identify students in need of additional psychological or social support and coordinate appropriate interventions or referrals.
Collaborate closely with educators, dorm counsellors, program staff, and parents to ensure student welfare.
Support staff in managing behavioural or emotional challenges among students; provide consultation and training where needed.
Facilitate workshops and group discussions on well-being, resilience, and healthy relationships.
Participate in student welfare meetings and contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.
Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation in accordance with Israeli legal and ethical standards.
Respond to crises or emergencies promptly and professionally, ensuring appropriate follow-up and communication
Work closely with, and report to, our Dean of Students on all matters related to student wellbeing

Qualifications and Requirements

· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work, psychology or school counselling (B.S.W. or M.S.W.) from an accredited institution.

· At least 3 years of experience working with adolescents, preferably in an educational or residential setting.

· Experience working with and relating to American teenagers, their parents and schools.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English (native level) and Hebrew (advantage).

· Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

· Professional, flexible, and caring. Must have excellent communications skills

· Availability for flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed during student programs.

· Strong problem-solving and crisis management skills.

· Warm, empathetic personality with a professional and ethical approach.
