We are looking for a visionary VP R&D to join our growing leadership team.

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and lead the next phase of our technological growth. You’ll lead a talented and driven engineering team, influence company-wide strategy, and own the execution of our roadmap as we scale our platform and expand our capabilities.

We are a bootstrap (profitable & non-funded) company, with 100+ clients and record-breaking ARR in less than 2 years.

Role & Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Execution - Define and execute the R&D strategy to deliver the product roadmap with high velocity, while upholding quality standards and technical excellence.
Team Building & Scaling - Build and lead a high-performing R&D organization by recruiting top talent and fostering a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Development Operations & Infrastructure - Oversee end-to-end development processes, CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and system reliability to ensure scalability and high system reliability.
Process Optimization & Automation - Implement modern development methodologies and automation frameworks that streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and accelerate delivery timelines.
AI Integration & Productivity - Drive adoption of AI tools and best practices that enhance engineer productivity and improve code quality throughout the development lifecycle.
Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with Product, Sales, and Customer Success teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions and ensure alignment on delivery priorities.
Budget & Resource Management - Own R&D budget planning and resource allocation, ensuring optimal return on investment while supporting organizational growth and technical objectives.

Requirements:

6+ years of progressive R&D leadership in high-tech or SaaS organizations, including 2+ years in senior management roles.
Proven track record building and scaling large-scale, high-performance distributed system and robust data workflows - must.
Hands-on experience with backend technologies (TypeScript/Node.js), AWS (or equivalent cloud platforms), modern data architectures, and performance optimization -must.
Led R&D teams responsible for high-availability production systems (99.9%+ uptime), ensuring platform stability across complex, distributed architectures.
Designed and implemented robust incident response strategies, including on-call rotations, playbooks, and postmortem processes to drive continuous improvement and minimize downtime.
Strong financial acumen, including budget ownership and resource forecasting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.

We’d be lucky if you had:

Experience in a profitable, non-funded (bootstrap) environment.
Background in public data APIs, social network data collection, or related data-centric domains.
Patents, publications, or prior success bringing innovative products to market.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
