We’re looking for our first Business Development Manager to lead the expansion of Vetric’s products into new verticals and unlock untapped market opportunities. This is a highly strategic and hands-on role, centered on market discovery, ecosystem development, relationship building, and early-stage revenue generation.
You will play a pivotal role in expanding Vetric’s Serviceable Addressable Market (SAM), while directly influencing the future direction of our product and go-to-market strategy. Working at the intersection of business development, sales, and product, this role requires strong ownership, initiative, and the ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments — offering a rare opportunity to help define entirely new markets and drive Vetric’s next phase of growth.
Key Responsibilities
Ecosystem and Market Analysis
- Research and analyze new verticals to understand market structure, key players, and value chains
- Identify leading companies, emerging players, and relevant ecosystem stakeholders
- Understand how public data is currently used within the vertical, including data sources, tools, and workflows
- Work closely with product and engineering to identify technical gaps, constraints, and opportunities
- Synthesize market insights into clear, structured reports for leadership and product teams
Business Development and Relationship Building
- Build relationships with senior decision makers across the ecosystem
- Initiate and lead discovery conversations with potential customers and partners
- Secure conversations with a few potential design partners per vertical
- Represent Vetric at in-person meetings, industry events, and conferences
- Conduct in-depth discovery to understand the ecosystem deeply - pain points, buying behavior, vendor landscape, etc.
Design Partners and Early Pipeline Ownership
- Build and manage an early-stage pipeline in new verticals
- Lead commercial conversations and close initial design partner agreements
- Establish early customer traction in new markets
- Collaborate with sales leadership on pricing, positioning, and deal structure
Requirements:
This role requires a senior Business Development professional with a proven track record of successfully opening new verticals or geographies with clear commercial impact.
- 7+ years of experience in Business Development roles, with direct responsibility for launching new markets, verticals, or geographies that resulted in meaningful revenue contribution
- Demonstrated success owning market expansion initiatives end to end, including ecosystem mapping, positioning, senior stakeholder engagement, and initial customer or partner revenue
- Proven ability to independently initiate and close early commercial relationships in new markets, without relying on inbound demand or established brand presence
- Experience leading discovery-driven conversations that validate real buying behavior, budget ownership, and willingness to pay, not only interest or experimentation
- Strong ownership mindset with accountability for outcomes, including knowing when to double down on a market and when to deprioritize it based on evidence
- Ability to translate market feedback into concrete business cases and actionable input for product and leadership teams
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous, zero-playbook environments while maintaining focus on commercial results
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently for in-person meetings, conferences, and ecosystem events across regions
- Excellent communication skills in English, with confidence engaging senior decision makers and representing the company externally
Advantageous but Not Required
- Experience working with technical, data-driven, or API-based products
- Background in industries where public data is a core input
- Experience building new markets in startup or scale-up environments
