Briya - Senior Data Scientist

Briya is building AI-powered tools to accelerate epidemiological research and enable high-quality, harmonized healthcare data. Our platform combines multi-agent AI, NLP, and data pipelines to extract insights from structured and unstructured clinical data, support research workflows, and improve data reliability and accessibility.

We are seeking an experienced data scientist to join us as a hands-on tech lead. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain production AI and NLP solutions, ensure data pipelines and models are reliable and scalable, and collaborate across engineering, product, and research teams to deliver impactful solutions.

• Experience: 5+ years in applied machine learning or data science, with 3+ years delivering production-grade AI/NLP solutions.
• AI & System Design: Proven ability to design, implement, and deploy robust AI systems; experience evaluating architecture trade-offs, scaling solutions, and integrating AI into complex software environments (multi-agent frameworks, LLM-based systems).
• NLP Expertise: Strong experience in modern NLP workflows including embeddings, text classification, entity extraction, and evaluation; familiarity with combining classical NLP methods with large language models and fine-tuning approaches.
• Data & Statistical Skills: Deep understanding of data cleaning, preprocessing, exploration, visualization, and statistical analysis; ability to identify biases, validate assumptions, and implement robust pipelines for heterogeneous datasets.
• Experience working with EMR or clinical data- an advantage
