Senior Software Engineer - Live Debugging

The Dynamic Instrumentation / Live Debugging team is building an exciting, brand new product that helps developers quickly troubleshoot and diagnose bugs and performance issues in complex distributed systems - bringing code-level observability into the hands of every developer. We're investing heavily in experiences that allow developers to dynamically instrument their applications and perform live debugging, in production, with the smallest possible performance overhead and rock-solid reliability. What you'll do:

Develop new significant features for our new Live Debugger product, progressively rolling it out with feature flags
Write high-quality, maintainable code primarily in Kotlin and Go, with occasional use of Java
Work with our security teams to ensure we are delivering a sensitive product with top-notch security.
Collaborate with our AI Code Gen team and IDE Integration team to create meaningful new customer experiences
Diagnose and address reliability concerns, solve scaling bottlenecks in our critical services, and implement systems to prevent outages.
With your team, plan the most important projects to work on next

Who You Are:

You have significant experience in backend development
You have experience working with distributed systems, and modern software architectures (microservices, cloud computing, etc.)
You have a strong product mindset and enjoy collaborating with product managers to build user-focused solutions.
You are a strong communicator who can work effectively in a distributed team
You've written high-performance, concurrent applications and squeezed every bit of performance from your system. You've written clean, correct, well-tested, performant, idiomatic code
You want to work in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment that respects its engineers and customers
Bonus points: experience with Kubernetes, Kafka, Cassandra

Bonus Points:

You've worked on the runtime or the compiler for a popular programming language, or a developer tool such as an IDE or static code analysis.
