xEngineer Team Lead for Document Management

As a Team Lead, you will lead a team of backend engineers that owns several core services at the heart of Wix’s editors infrastructure.

The team is responsible for:

• Building and maintaining backend APIs that enable safe and scalable changes to the site model operating at massive scale and impacting millions of users

• Designing and generating schemas that power Wix’s next-generation editors Harmony and Studio 2

• Owning the editor loading flow, ensuring fast, reliable, and consistent editor initialization

In addition, you will:

• Lead the design and ownership of a unified document site model that captures user intent across all Wix editors

• Provide technical leadership through mentorship, guidance, and hands-on contribution

• Architect and maintain highly performant, scalable systems

• Establish and uphold high engineering standards, best practices, and code quality

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to design, build, test, and deliver impactful features

• Drive complex technical initiatives from concept to production

• 4+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong backend or full-stack background

• 2-3 years of experience as a team lead

• experience leading large, complex projects end-to-end

• Deep understanding of large-scale web applications and distributed systems

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate complex technical challenges

• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

• A proactive approach with a strong curiosity to understand systems deeply

Wix’s Document Management Group is a core part of the Editor cluster, powering over 200 million users worldwide. Our group owns the very core foundation of how Wix sites are created, structured, and rendered.

We are responsible for:

• Defining the structure that represents user sites intention and enables live rendering

• Driving the business logic behind all Wix editors

• Providing APIs that allow editors and verticals to manipulate the site

• Supporting large-scale operations including editing, saving, publishing, undo/redo, and migrations
