Senior Systems Administrator - Labs and Data Center Infrastructure

About the job:Red Hat is looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to join our Data Center Services team in Ra’anana, Israel. In this role, you will focus on the integration and maintenance of prototype and production hardware systems into the test infrastructure for the Red Hat Engineering Development team. The systems and services managed by Products & Global Engineering are spread across multiple locations globally. As a Senior Systems Administrator, you will provide technical leadership for Red Hat's Engineering Lab team, identify areas to improve, manage projects, and mentor junior administrators. You'll help develop, deploy, and support lab infrastructure that allows our Engineering team to produce world class open source software. To succeed in this role, you’ll need to have experience managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, outstanding troubleshooting skills, and have worked with a wide variety of hardware and software platforms. If you're passionate about open source, and have experience with open source technologies and methodologies, you'll thrive here.What you will do:Architect development labsCoordinate with management on projects and lab expansionsProvide technical leadership, training, and mentorship of junior associatesProviding consultation service on hardware specificationsIntegrate hardware into test infrastructure and maintain itServe as the final escalation point of contact for areas and topics of your expertiseScreen and interview potential interns and junior lab administratorsNegotiate and purchase hardwareDevelop hardware and labs documentation for protocols and standardsWhat you will bring:4+ years of Linux or UNIX system admin experience, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance;Broad knowledge of networking e.g., LAN, fiber channel, Infiniband, and storage, e.g., FC, iSCSI, NFS, object storageExperience with Data Center infrastructure and technologies (such as AC, PDU, UPS, structured cabling management, airflow management).Experience with networking technology and networking infrastructure services and protocols, e.g., DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Kerberos, NIS, PXEExperience with configuration management tools like CFEngine, Puppet, GIT and or AnsibleJudgment and negotiation skills, along with the ability to find successful resolutions for complex issuesThe following is considered a plus:Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) is a plusStorage solutions experience; Hardware level (Dell EMC, HPe Storage, NetApp) is a plusClose familiarity with SAN best practicesEnd-to-end experience with storage stackExperience configuring Ethernet, storage switching, Brocade's Fibre Channel, FabricOS and JunOS experience. Cisco iOS is a plusExperience using RPM and yum for software deployment; Experience with building binaries is a plusExperience providing asset management information to management groups in decision-making processes#LI-OA1
