Protection Field Officer

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is looking for a candidate to fill in the following position: Protection Field Officer Place of Employment : Tel Aviv Contract duration: 12 months (extendable) Occupation rate: 100% Starting Date: As soon as possible Purpose of the Role The Protection Field Officer contributes to the implementation and monitoring of ICRC protection activities in Israel and Golan. S/he ensures that the visitors and/or callers understand the mandate, working modalities and limitations of the ICRC. S/he will ensure that the ICRC understands the needs of the beneficiaries and provides them with an adequate response. Main Responsibilities · Implements protection activities in the area of responsibility. · Contributes to analysis of the security, socioeconomic, cultural and political environment relevant to the ICRC, shares relevant information with team members. · Contributes to the design and implementation of projects. · Collects, compiles and interprets protection-related information. · Analyses and contributes to written internal reporting and activity programming. · Develops and maintains contact with relevant counterparts. · Prepares, participates in and reports on all aspects of field assignments. · Receives visits and/or calls and acts as the primary point of contact for the ICRC for protection issues. · Assesses, monitors and document the humanitarian situation and its impacts on beneficiaries, and proposes and implements courses of action. · Liaises with other departments in the delegation involved in activities relating to Protection. · Ensures the relevant and timely internal reporting linked to Protection. Job Requirements and Experience · University degree in relevant field (e.g. political science, social sciences, law). · Fluent level (minimum C1) of English and Hebrew. · Computer literacy. · A minimum of 5 years’ work experience · Program/project experience with the ICRC or other humanitarian agency is an asset.
