Gen AI Product Owner

We are looking for a GenAI Product Owner to join our AI organization and play a critical role in executing Wiliot’s GenAI and Physical AI initiatives. This is a highly hands-on, execution-focused role, sitting at the intersection of GenAI, data platforms, and ambient IoT.

You will work closely with engineering teams to turn ideas, strategies, and architectural direction into clear technical stories, tasks, and deliverables - and make sure they get shipped. While product strategy will evolve over time, the core of this role is getting things done: driving execution, removing friction, and ensuring complex technical work moves forward with clarity and urgency.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the technology, thrives in ambiguity, and wants to work on deep, difficult problems at the frontier of Physical AI and GenAI.

Requirements:

5+ years of proven experience in a Product Owner, Technical Product Manager, or similar execution-heavy role in a highly technical environment.
Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable work items (stories, tasks, bugs).
Experience working closely with engineering teams on data platforms, AI systems, or developer-facing products.
Familiarity with GenAI systems, AI agents, or applied AI workflows (e.g., LLM-based products, chatbots, evaluation frameworks).
Hands-on experience with product execution tools such as Jira, Linear, Asana, or similar.
Strong understanding of agile development and iterative delivery in fast-moving teams.
Ability to take ownership, drive clarity in ambiguity, and push execution forward independently.
Excellent communication skills: clear, direct, and pragmatic.
High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple parallel workstreams.
Technical literacy: comfort working with engineers on topics such as APIs, data pipelines, cloud services, and AI systems.
Exposure to Python, data science fundamentals, or ML concepts is a strong advantage.
Passion for Physical AI, GenAI, and Ambient IoT, and motivation to work on hard, non-trivial technical problems.

Responsibilities:

Own Execution for GenAI Products: Take ownership of the execution of GenAI-related initiatives, from early concepts through implementation, iteration, and delivery.
Translate Strategy into Action: Break down high-level ideas, architectures, and strategies into detailed technical requirements, user stories, tasks, and bugs that engineering teams can execute on.
Hands-On Backlog Ownership: Own and manage the product backlog: prioritizing work, writing precise stories, refining requirements, and ensuring readiness for development.
Sprint & Delivery Management: Work day-to-day with engineering teams to plan sprints, track progress, unblock issues, and ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
Deep Technical Collaboration: Partner closely with AI, data, and platform engineers to clarify requirements, align on design decisions, and make tradeoffs when needed.
End-to-End Ownership: Ensure features and capabilities are delivered, validated, and iterated on - owning outcomes, not just plans.
Cross-Functional Alignment: Coordinate with product management, AI leadership, and other stakeholders to ensure execution aligns with broader company goals.
Status & Communication: Provide clear, structured updates on progress, risks, and dependencies to leadership and stakeholders.
