The Imaging and Sensing group at Apple develops Depth and Image Sensing systems such as the revolutionary True Depth camera that powers FaceID and the recently released LIDAR scanner. This multi-disciplinary group of cutting edge engineers is responsible for architecture, design, development and validation of these highly complex sensing systems, aimed for Apple products. This team is looking for an Optical System characterization and Validation Engineer to work on advanced electro-optical system development.

Description

Be part of a core technology team developing advanced solutions for future products. Own characterization, test, and validation aspects of our ground breaking sensing systems, starting at the early phases (lab prototypes) till complete system maturity (Mass Production). Conduct Design, test, analysis, and Report of lab-based experiments, backed-up by system simulations. Develop new validation / characterization methods / concepts and procedures. Conduct data driven analysis required for decision making.

Key Qualifications

3-5 years of multidisciplinary R&D background experience as a System / Characterization / Validation / SW engineer
Deep understanding of electro optical systems along with design considerations and tradeoffs
Hands- on experience in coding: Matlab and/or Python

Lab automation: Sensors, Motion stages, Robots
Optical Lab / test equipment (Interferometers, Spectrometers, and Ad-Hoc optical table setup)

Education & Experience

B. Sc / M. Sc / PhD in Physics or Optical / System / Mechanical / Biomedical engineering.
