About Bazak: The Operating System for AI Commerce

Bazak is building the agentic AI infrastructure layer for SMBs and mid-market Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) businesses. We help brands adapt by transforming their existing sites and APIs into AI-native commerce infrastructure. We deploy a fully managed Agentic Experience (AX) on top of existing websites that is production-ready within days, requiring zero client-side engineering or API development. 

Role Description

You will design, develop and maintain our AI‑commerce platform. This role combines hands‑on coding with influence over architecture and best practices; help define our technical vision, and bring new features to life quickly and reliably.

Hybrid model of 3-4 days of work from the office, 1-2 from home.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship product features end‑to‑end: from requirements and design through implementation, testing, deployment and iteration.
• Implement back‑end services and APIs using Node.js & Python and related frameworks, with an emphasis on performance, data modelling and integrations.
• Define and refine engineering processes: establish deployment pipelines, testing standards and observability practices without specifying tools.
• Collaborate with founders and leverage AI coding tools to accelerate development.
• Uphold high standards through thoughtful code reviews, mentorship and documentation.
• Develop robust front‑end experiences with React and TypeScript, ensuring responsive, accessible UIs.

Must‑have

• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong TypeScript/JavaScript skills and production experience with Node.js and React.
• Experience building AI‑agent workflows / conversational (tool calling, orchestration).
• Demonstrated ability to deliver features independently and take ownership of end‑to‑end product workflows.
• Solid understanding of backend development principles, including API design, data modelling and performance considerations.
• Commitment to high engineering standards: automated testing, code reviews and maintainable code.

Nice‑to‑have

• Knowledge of LangGraph, Vercel AI or other frameworks for AI Agents, Familiarity with the KB/RAG frameworks.
• Knowledge of Supabase/Postgres or similar database technologies.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Terraform or other infrastructure‑as‑code tools.
• Exposure to observability and analytics tools.
• Some Python experience.
• Knowledge of the MCP ecosystem and agent orchestration.
• Previous startup/founding engineer experience, especially 0→1.
